The 3rd Annual KoaStrong Golf Tournament brings together community leaders, businesses, and families who believe children deserve protection before cancer begins. More than a day on the course, this event is a powerful step toward changing how childhood cancer is approached—shifting the focus upstream to prevention and early detection.

Proceeds from the 2026 tournament will support cutting-edge newborn genomic screening initiatives, advancing research and advocacy that aim to identify cancer risks earlier in life, before symptoms appear. By investing in prevention-focused science and awareness today, we can reduce the burden of childhood cancer for future generations.

Through meaningful partnerships, education, and shared purpose, the KoaStrong Golf Tournament continues to grow as a place where impact meets action—and where every swing supports healthier beginnings for children everywhere.

What is the KOASTRONG Comfort Program?

We arrange certified comfort dog visits, offering children a chance to meet and bond with a dog in the comfort of their own home or familiar surroundings. These one-on-one interactions can brighten a child’s day and provide a much-needed escape from the everyday stress and worries that come with cancer.

What should you do during a dog visit?

A visit from one of our comfort dog teams can break the daily routine, increase overall emotional well-being, and stimulate the mind in dramatic ways. Comfort dogs offer many wonderful benefits to people of all ages. Some things children may do during the dog visit:

have the dog do tricks
tell the dog a story
read to the dog
if possible, go for a walk with the dog

2025 KoaStrong Golf Tournament: Driving Prevention Forward

On September 22, 2025, 170 supporters came together at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose, CA for KoaStrong’s annual golf fundraiser — an inspiring day of community, awareness, and action for childhood cancer prevention.

Thanks to the generosity of KoaStrongʻs sponsors, players, and volunteers, the event brings a net of $40,000 to advance research that asks a different question — how can we prevent childhood cancer before it starts?

These funds are advancing projects in early detection and environmental and genomic risk identification — helping protect children before cancer ever begins.

While most funding today supports research after diagnosis, KoaStrong is helping build the foundation for what comes before: prevention, early detection, and protecting children’s health from the start. Supporting this mission means investing in the future of pediatric cancer science — one that aims to stop cancer before it ever reaches a child.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our photographers, emcee, golf directory and our wonderful team of volunteers who made the day seamless and memorable. Every swing, every sponsor, and every helping hand brought us closer to a future where fewer children face cancer.

We’re grateful for everyone who made our golf event such a success!
