partners in childhood cancer prevention
KoaStrong Childhood Cancer Prevention Organization is proud to support the Childhood Leukemia International Consortium (CLIC) through committed grant funding. CLIC brings together leading researchers from around the world to study the genomic factors that contribute to childhood leukemia. By investing in this collaborative effort, KoaStrong advances its mission to uncover the root causes of childhood cancer and drive forward prevention strategies grounded in cutting-edge genomic science.
Located at the heart of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, Baylor College of Medicine focuses the efforts of faculty, staff and trainees on improving health through science, scholarship and innovation. This vision is realized through collaborative research initiatives in which basic, translational, and clinical researchers work together across disciplines and specialties to discover fundamental insights into human health and disease and to apply their discoveries to develop new diagnostic tools and treatments. Collectively the research engines on the TMC campus are number two in nation funding from the National Institutes of Health. Researchers collaborate across institutions creating a vast biomedical research ecosystem.
KoaStrong Childhood Cancer Prevention Organization is proud to support groundbreaking research at Baylor College of Medicine through a grant to Dr. Michael Scheurer. This important study analyzes baby teeth to detect early-life environmental exposures that may increase the risk of developing leukemia. By investing in innovative research like this, KoaStrong advances its mission to uncover the causes of childhood cancer and drive prevention efforts that protect the health of future generations.
